Event Registrations - 5 Underappreciated Ways to Boost Your Numbers
)
Our event marketing agency TEMBO IMPACT shares 5 underappreciated ways which can get you closer to your goals:
1. Pre-pop forms
People are busy and like to spend as little as possible on admin tasks.
Most registration companies’ forms include the option to prepopulate key information such as name, contact details, job tile and company name. Your prospect visitors would still need to select event specific information such as areas of interest. But with the rest being pre-populated, they’ll be much more likely to finalise their registration.
Tip: if you’re using HubSpot as a registration tool, you need to specify that you want your form to be a pre-pop one,
2. Exit Intent pop up messages
When a user has spent some time on your events page, it’s an indication of interest. They might be rushing to go back to their work and tempted to leave the registration for later. However, setting up a simple, eye-catching and succinct pop up which gets triggered when they’re about to leave your website, could you all you need to convert them to a registrant.
3. Abandoned basket emails
You need to make sure your website builder is linked to your email platform. Once this is done, you can set up helpful reminders for your audience to complete your registrations. A simple email that gets triggered 1h+ after your website visitors have visited your registration page can be a great way to convert them into registrants. You can try subject lines such as: “Did you forget something?”, “Don’t forget your complimentary ticket”, “Finish what you started”, “It takes 30 seconds to finish your registration”.
4. Speaker and exhibitor advocacy
Your speakers and your exhibitors benefit greatly from being part of your event. They get extra visibility, great opportunities for new business and new connections, and the event helps them generate more awareness about what they do. The issue is that they don’t always market themselves enough before the exhibition/conference day. You can help them by providing them with ready-to-use assets such as social media copy and images. You should also regularly remind them to use them to promote their participation, therefore increase the registration numbers by inviting their connections.
5. Personalised email invitations
People often feel flattered when they get an email which is titled “Your personal invite from…”. It can be signed as the Editor, Event Director or Marketing Director, but the important thing is to give this special attention to the potential visitors. If this visprom email is packed with compelling reasons to visit and, the chance of converting this person into an actual visitor is high.
Tip: If you have a helpful free resource such whitepapers, eBooks and reports, it’s worth including them in the invitation email.
