Maximise event success with attendee and engagement data

TEMBO

Event organisers have access to so much data that knowing how to utilise it and make sense of it all can feel overwhelming at times.

Our in-house marketing agency team, TEMBO IMPACT, have shared the key attendee and engagement metrics you should be monitoring.

ATTENDEE DATA

1. Number of attendees

What’s your conversion rate? How many attendees vs registrants? Did this number match your expectations? How does it compare to last year’s attendance?

2. New vs returning

How many new attendees did you have and how did they learn about your event? What was their main motivation for attending? What % of last year’s visitors showed up and what was the reason some of them didn’t this year?

3. Event satisfaction

It’s important to understand what the visitors enjoyed the most and the least. Collect qualitative data on-site and through the post-event survey, asking attendees to rate their experience. What did they find valuable? What could be improved next time?

ENGAGEMENT DATA

1. Social media on site

Are visitors using your event’s hashtag? Are they tagging your accounts and are they sharing photos, videos, and live updates? Assess likes, comments, shares, and views on social media platforms.

2. App usage

If you have an event app, monitor the usage data to understand how attendees are engaging with the app. Number of downloads, features used - session saved to calendar, exhibitors bookmarked and meetings booked will give you an indication of the app's effectiveness.

3. Engagement with the conference

Keep track of the number of attendees participating in each session. This metric helps you gauge the popularity and relevance of different sessions and presentations. Are the delegates interacting within sessions – e.g. participating in live polls and asking questions during Q&A sessions?

By utilising your attendee and engagement data, you can refine your event planning, create more enjoyable experiences, and attract and retain more visitors in the future.

If you need extra support when things are getting busy, have a staff shortage or need to focus on a particular project or channel, TEMBO IMPACT have the expertise to achieve the best possible results.
