TEMBO

Should I become a freelance event marketer?

Kate Disley

Freelancing can be a great move if you want variety, flexibility and more control over the projects you take on—but it also requires independence, adaptability and comfort with less predictable income.

You may be ready to freelance if you can manage your own workload, communicate confidently with clients and join unfamiliar teams without needing a long settling-in period. Relevant event experience is especially valuable because campaigns move quickly and deadlines do not move. You will also need to set an appropriate day rate and take responsibility for your own tax and business affairs.

Through TEMBO, freelancers set their day rate and can be matched with suitable event-industry opportunities. We manage the client relationship, pay monthly for completed work and offer PAYE options where appropriate. Work cannot be guaranteed, but you are supported by a team that understands both events and freelance life—freelance, but not alone.

Join TEMBO, current opportunities and submit your CV.
